Free Event at Orkney Wetlands, Omakau

Come and celebrate the progress made in restoring this incredible ecosystem. Families welcome.
FREE ICE CREAMS FOR ALL VISITORS!
- A guided tour of the wetland.
- See the transformation of the wetland, home to over 40,000 native plants and a range of bird species.
- Discover how volunteers are using predator trapping and bird monitoring to protect local wildlife.
- Hear about the upcoming installation of a public viewing platform, just off the Otago Central Rail Trail.

Where:
In Omakau, turn off SH85 onto Alton Street, which becomes White Road. Travel 1.3km, and parking is on your left.
Follow the signs to Orkney Wetland.
